Background Checks


In order to protect the citizens of Hartford, it is the policy of the Town of Hartford to conduct criminal background checks of all volunteers and sub-contractors providing unsupervised care or services for vulnerable populations (youths ages 17 and under, adults with disabilities and the elderly). The Hartford Parks and Recreation  Department will only select persons who are of good character and who have the skills and other qualifications necessary to fulfill their role. Providing a safe and enjoyable environment for children and all participants is a primary consideration in Hartford Parks and Recreation Department service decisions.
